I’ve ported IceCream to iOS (iPhone and iPad) using Monotouch and XnaTouch. Here’s a video of the CompositeEntity shown in my last post, in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4D7TYtb_U8
All the XML scene code can be imported as is, and everything *should* work as on Xbox/PC except PostProcessAnimations.
They are still some stuff to fix with XnaTouch so I won’t make a release at the moment, but I will merge the SVN code soon with the changes. The code base will stay unique for all devices.

Per popular request, I’ve added a link to our SVN repository (+ wiki/bug reporting) :-)
Check the new “Download” menu and pay the “Tutorials” page of the wiki a visit to get started.

Skeletal Animation Editor ("CompositeEntity")
Hey folks,
The first commercial Xbox Live Indie Game created with IceCream has been released this week on Xbox!
Name’s Gentlemacho, created by… me :)

Gentlemacho - Powered by IceCream!
Hey folks!
Contrary to the very low update rate of this blog, IceCream BETA is still actively being developed, with many new features added lately.
Here are the 2 latest ones, Farseer (physics engine) integration and CompositeEntity (keyframed skeletal animations) SceneItem.

Here’s a small example of a Particle Effect, made a looong time ago based on “The Dishwasher: Dead Samourai” game.
It’s playing at 2x speed, due to a poor AVI to GIF converter >_> Just imagine it running slower ;-)

Just a quick sample of what you can do with IceCream’s particle engine, in a matter of a few minutes :)
Hey everyone,
Despite what most people seem to assume in our latest post’s comments, our project is far from dead.
We’ve continued to improved the IceCream framework and the MilkShake authoring editor since December, with different goodies and especially the addition by Conkerjo of Farseer Physics support.

Pinball game using Farseer and IceCream
We now have a semi-private beta. Though it is not feature complete, it can still be used for games already. To be able to participate in this private beta, simply join us on our IRC Channel #IceCream on Efnet.org!
And a public beta of IceCream will be released soon :)
Sorry for the lack of recent updates on this blog, we both have been very busy with our lives. I (Epsicode) am even doing a break from XNA coding right now, as I have to focus on other obligations, but I hope to be back working on IceCream in the next few months. In the meantime, Conkerjo will continue to work on the framework, so no worries :)
Tonight I’ve been playing around with the graphics from “Zombie Smasher”, the sample game from Jamezila‘s book (if you want to know how he made “The Dishwasher”, buy it!). Here’s the result:

This is the first post on our newly dairy website :-)
I’ve just added a new video, so go check it out!
IceCream and Milkshake are coming along nicely, and are both in a very advanced state right now, but we still don’t have any release date. Please be patient :-)
