IceCream website is launched

This is the first post on our newly dairy website :-)

I’ve just added a new video, so go check it out!

IceCream and Milkshake are coming along nicely, and are both in a very advanced state right now, but we still don’t have any release date. Please be patient :-)

    mfg floAr

  • Stunning as always guys!

Epsicode and Conker are my heros!

  • Can’t wait to release…

  • Looks like an awesome engine. Im working on an adventure game right now and this looks like a good engine to start with so I can concentrate on the game instead of coding all the basic graphics stuff. Hope you find time to release a beta soon :-)

  • This looks absolutely stunning! Epsicode, I was always a fan of the editor you made for The Little Gamers (at least from what I could tell from your creatorx.xna.com posts) and this looks to be a dramatic extension (or reinvisioning) of what you had then.

I’ve been working on an editor/engine for my game, but recently have had a mutlitude of other things to consume my time; looks like I lucked out :) A quick question if you don’t mind… with your 2d swept collision, are you using any kind of quad-tree or scene graph structure for that? That is about the only thing I can confidently say I have in my tool (it works with 2d polygons) and it is rather efficient. It sounds like you guys have covered that, but I’m just curious. Thanks for making IceCream so incredible; I can’t wait to try it out!

  • Thanks for the nice comments guys :-)

Josh: quadtree is on the plan, just not implemented yet; Conkerjo is working on that part.

  • Hi.

When You release IceCream it will be src and bin or only bin and whats with little games teh demo – do you release it’s source someday ?

  • when do you plan to release it?
will it be free or do you have a license system?

    It looks really great

  • It should be free and open source, but more on that once we have a finished product.

I guess we still need a few more weeks of work

  • I have one more question – is icecream based on Your knowledge from creating litte gamers teh demo ? it’s based on that code ?

  • It is much more evolved, you can’t compare them

  • one more..
is ICECREAM “only” an editor or also a 2D framework.
I mean is the editor only a help tool and do you also offer some classes and methods or can a game only be created within the editor?

thanks… and hope the weeks will dont be so long without this great looking tool..

by the way.. I love the Zombie book :)

  • Read the “What is IceCream page” GSMS :-)

  • Looks great!

Is this built for XNA 3.0?

    Thanks!

  • Thanks :-) and yes, 3.0

  • Thanks for your work guys! im working on an XNA 2D platform game right now and i would be pleased to use your engine and editor, as well as help you making any kind of improvement in the source code.

  • IceCream is looking fantastic guys! Can’t wait until it’s released! Do you have any idea at all about the release date yet?

  • Do you have any plan about when will be it realeased?

  • how downloading?

  • As far as I can tell, it’s not released yet. I hope it gets open-sourced soon regardless of it’s state of completion because that would allow a lot of people to start helping bug-fix or develop plugins etc.

  • Hi, I have accidently come across your website while browsing around Google as I’m looking for some information on engine lifts!. I think it’s a very interesting website so I bookmarked your site and intend to return soon to give it a more detailed look when I can give it more time.

  • very great blog! congratulations :)

  • When will this be released? I have a team raring to go to use this!

  • Its such as you learn my thoughts! You appear to grasp so much about this, like you wrote the
book in it or something. I believe that you just could do with a few % to pressure the message home a bit, but other than that, that is excellent blog. An excellent read. I will definitely be back.
