IceCream is being ported to iOS (iPhone/iPad)

I’ve ported IceCream to iOS (iPhone and iPad) using Monotouch and XnaTouch. Here’s a video of the CompositeEntity shown in my last post, in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4D7TYtb_U8 All the XML scene code can be imported as is, and everything *should* work as on Xbox/PC except PostProcessAnimations. They are still some stuff to fix with XnaTouch so [...]

New features

Hey folks! Contrary to the very low update rate of this blog, IceCream BETA is still actively being developed, with many new features added lately. Here are the 2 latest ones, Farseer (physics engine) integration and CompositeEntity (keyframed skeletal animations) SceneItem.
Particle Effect example

Here’s a small example of a Particle Effect, made a looong time ago based on “The Dishwasher: Dead Samourai” game. It’s playing at 2x speed, due to a poor AVI to GIF converter >_> Just imagine it running slower ;-) Just a quick sample of what you can do with IceCream’s particle engine, in a [...]

IceCream enters private beta stage

Hey everyone, Despite what most people seem to assume in our latest post’s comments, our project is far from dead. We’ve continued to improved the IceCream framework and the MilkShake authoring editor since December, with different goodies and especially the addition by Conkerjo of Farseer Physics support. We now have a semi-private beta. Though it [...]

Tonight I’ve been playing around with the graphics from “Zombie Smasher”, the sample game from Jamezila‘s book (if you want to know how he made “The Dishwasher”, buy it!). Here’s the result:

IceCream and Milkshake are coming along nicely, and are both in a very advanced state right now, but we still don’t have any release date. Please be patient :-)
